Professional Expertise

Edward A. Cross, II is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of San Antonio Commercial Advisors. After graduation from college, Ed was first employed in Houston by Ernst & Young in the Tax & Audit Departments. He began his real estate career in 1980 with Kirksey Development Company.

After moving to San Antonio in 1985, he joined Embrey Investments, where he was Senior Vice President and a Partner in its commercial division. In 1998 he left to form Cross & Co; in 2011, San Antonio Commercial Advisors was created to better serve existing client needs and the growing demands of the San Antonio commercial real estate market.

Education, Memberships and Awards

Ed holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, is a licensed real estate broker and was a Certified Public Accountant.

Development and Investment Experience

Ed has been involved in the development or ownership of over 2 million sqft of office and industrial properties in and around San Antonio, including Trinity Plaza 2, Northbrook Business Center, Boerne Gateway, Cornerstone Industrial 1, 500 & 520 McCullough and the pending redevelopment of the Borden Dairy Complex.

He has developed nearly 1,000 apartment units including the Arbors Apartments in Boerne and the 1221 Broadway and Vistana in downtown San Antonio. He is currently developing Vicinia, the first new urbanist land development in San Antonio. Vicinia is an infill project and consists of 97 acres which will contain over 3,000 housing units once completed.

Ed has a long history of public service which currently includes the Centro San Antonio and Local Initiative Support Corp (LISC). He is a past member of the boards of SAMMinistries, JP Morgan Chase Advisory Board, the San Antonio Academy, the City of San Antonio Planning Commission, the San Antonio Zoo Board, Our Lady of the Lake University, The Downtown Alliance and Teach for America. Ed is married to the former Nancy Scott and they have two grown sons, Ted and Charlie. He is also a member, Deacon and Elder at First Presbyterian Church, San Antonio.
